AMERICAN RACING DRIVER
IN THE NTT INDYCAR SERIES
IN THE IMSA WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP ENDURANCE RACES
Kyle Kirkwood is an American champion race car driver. A native of Jupiter, Florida (where he still resides), Kyle is in his rookie NTT INDYCAR Series season in 2022 where he is the driver of the iconic No. 14 AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet. Kyle has risen through the ranks of open-wheel racing by winning at every level and his talent is exemplified through his various records and accomplishments. He is the only driver in history to win championships in all three divisions of the Road to Indy ladder system, and achieved this in consecutive seasons: USF2000 in 2018, Indy Pro 2000 in 2019 and Indy Lights in 2021 (the 2020 Indy Lights season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Kyle won a remarkable 31 of the 50 total races that comprise the three Road to Indy championships.
Kirkwood, 23, began karting at age four and hasn’t wavered from his dream of becoming an INDYCAR champion – and being a diverse racer. In addition to his competing in INDYCAR, Kyle is also a highly competitive sports car driver where he pilots the No. 14 factory Lexus entry for Vasser Sullivan Racing in the endurance rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Kyle is a passionate, disciplined individual who is fully dedicated to his craft, constantly training and pushing himself to improve in all facets of life. He spends his time away from the race track deep sea fishing and surfing.
“I’ve already been impressed with how Kyle thinks about racing and the maturity he has for such a young driver. The NTT INDYCAR Series is as competitive as ever, and the challenges are great, but we feel Kyle will be a great asset as we take on those challenges and work to grow as a team.”
